The new release includes many improvements on different levels of the CHIP system, i.e. on the kernel as well as on the modules.
Within CHIP V5.8, we highlight three major new features:
·
CHIP-BCL : New high-level solver library
CHIP-BCL (CHIP Business-oriented
Constraints Layer) is a new high-level solver library
coming on top of CHIP-C++. The aim of this library is to offer a
modeling language using high-level objects, business-oriented
constraints and parametric search mechanisms in order to make easier
the development of CHIP programs for many types of standard
scheduling and planning problems.
·
CHIP Explorer
The "CHIP Explorer" combines
in one unique tool a set of functionalities dedicated to the
debugging process under CHIP++. It enables the programmer to
display, to navigate through and to modify different parts of CHIP++
programs (e.g. predicates, clauses, objects) under a graphical user
interface.
·
CSI Solver and CSI Master
The CSI (CHIP Solver Interface)
module, introduced in the last Release, has been revisited.
Especially, it has been split in two parts: CSI Solver (the CHIP++
or CHIP-C++ solver) and CSI Master (the process that
"manages" the solver).
